Prepare: with Patience

Prepare: with Patience

The key spiritual truth for Advent is to prepare with patience, which is defined as faith stretched out over time in a world where the kingdom is real but hidden. This Christian patience involves a holy dissatisfaction with the world as it is, paired with confidence in God's plan. We practice this patience by embracing two pillars: maintaining Christian optimism that everything is ultimately going according to God's plan, even when circumstances contradict it (like the cross); and developing perception to recognize that Jesus brings His kingdom in quiet, small, and hidden ways. We must remain faithful to our callings, yearn for His return, and be patient with others.
